Tennis in Almonte is an affordable and fun activity that offers both health and social benefits. Your annual membership fee grants season-long court access, spanning from April to November, with unlimited play hours – a fantastic value at approximately $5/week for adults and $10/week for the entire family. For frequent players, it’s less than $1 per hour.
Beyond court access, membership offers open play, fee clinics, drop-in sessions, tennis ladders, access to the ball machine and more. Joining our club means forging new friendships, enhancing physical and mental wellbeing, improving your skills, and being part of a community. All costs associated with operating the Almonte Tennis Club (things like insurance, hydro, maintenance, windscreens, equipment and OTA dues,) are covered by your membership fee.
In addition, your fees contribute to the Clubs financial obligations to pay a significant share of the capital costs to have well-kept tennis courts. This includes lighting, fencing, and the construction/renewal of the courts themselves. The board is hopeful for a complete court replacement in the near term. This is a costly project that will require funding from the Club. While we have been saving, and there are grants available, there is more work to be done to ensure we can cover the costs of the project.
We remain committed to balancing the affordability and inclusiveness of tennis while meeting current and future financial needs. Updated fees for 2024-25 support the Club’s financial needs for future court projects, without having to continuously ask its base for special donations, or to participate in fundraising efforts such as bake sales, on-line auctions, etc.

It is important to the Club that everyone in the community who wants to play continues to have access to the sport. Individuals and families with serious financial constraints that prevent them from joining may apply to the President/Registrar for a financial subsidy.
